How to Help Small Businesses Reach Their Sales Goals

Business Problem:  An e-commerce leader markets itself to small businesses by stating that consumers will convert (purchase products) on their platform at a higher rate than on a businesses' personal website or on a competitors' website. However, consumer conversion rates have started to dip in the past couple of months, hurting the business retention efforts.   

Research: I conducted an on-platform survey of consumers to understand why consumers were leaving the checkout experience prior to completing their purchase.

Findings: Consumers leave checkout because they were not ready to checkout (wanting to view more products). 

Impact: A product comparison feature was added to the shopper’s cart and an email campaign was launched to encourage consumers to complete their purchases.  Conversion rates improved by 15 percentage points due to these changes.
